how can we show that proj(a+b) = proj a + proj b on an arbitrary line. My book has a proof but it assumes that the vector triangle and the line lies on the same plane. What would be the proof for they not lying on the same plane?
This projection definition is used to verify the laws of scalar product. So using scalar product to prove it would be absurd.
