If I were to proof, say d^3/(1 - d)^2 = (i - d)^2 / 1 - v, should I proof this in both cases, I mean from LHS to RHS and from RHS to LHS? Or doing from one side to another is enough?

How is it possible for LHS = RHS but not RHS = LHS? Equality is a symmetric relation.
