User-Run Tournaments

I suggest that we have a forum where users can run their own math/science competitions where other users can join (like mock tournaments).

A lot of people know that I'm a large proponent of what you're suggesting. Personally, I would think that we could benifit with a discussion tournament.

However, there are 2 main problems:

1) Are enough people interested?? Doing such a thing for 2 or 3 people is useless.

2) Who will host it?? The mentors are volunteers and they have a lot of things to do. So monitoring such a tournament could eat away a lot of time, which the mentors don't have.

There is the fun and games subforum, is there any reason why this wouldn't be suitable?
