Okay, seriously, I have a birthday poem for you:
When forty winters shall beseige thy brow,
And dig deep trenches in thy beauty's field,
Thy youth's proud livery, so gazed on now,
Will be a tatter'd weed, of small worth held:
Then being ask'd where all thy beauty lies,
Where all the treasure of thy lusty days,
To say, within thine own deep-sunken eyes,
Blah, blah, Happy Birthday!!

Funny, when I type exclamation points, my right pinkie is on the shift key. that could explain check's problem there.

Hey, thanks! I thought I'd already had one last year. Hmm...
honestrosewater, being that I'm 29, not 40, should I be insulted by that poem? :surprised
Thanks guys.

Did you get any good pressies Russ? Have a good party? No party, but we'll see what happens this weekend. For presents, a year's subscription to "Sky and Telescope" and $50.
Sorry I'm gonna be unoriginal. Have a pleasantly stimulating and eventful anniversary of the day of your birth.

Fank you, Evo. I try :approve:

I have, and I feel your pain. Every time Evo leaves out the underscore in your name, it drives me nuts too.
Btw, Evo - have you noticed yet how I spell my name...?Why, I have no idea what you're talking about, the thread title looks correct to me.

Btw, Evo - have you noticed yet how I spell my name...?
Which now begs the question...is it pronounced any differently than if it were spelled Waters? Just wondering if I'm supposed to be trying to pronounce both T's or not. In my head, I alternate between two pronunciations, one that is Waters with a distinctive NJ accent (one of those few words that the Jersey stays stuck in), and something that sounds like it rhymes with fodders. Probably neither is right.

Wow, I'd hate to be around you when someone says "nucular" instead of "nuclear".

I was totally kidding. You may not have noticed before Evo edited the title, but she spelled his last name wrong (only one 't'). The 'missing underscore' comment was a joke, like, as if I hadn't noticed the spelling mistake.
It's not nearly as funny when I explain it though. :frown:
Don't worry tom, I thought it was funny

Dec10-04, 03:16 AM
Oh, no, I hadn't noticed. Okay, it's funny now.
But my nemesis, Moonbare, has raised a good question. Is watters pronounced the same as waters or does it rhyme with matters? Or is it pronounced some other way?
Moonbare? Who's Moonbare? We only have Baremoons here (or is it Noonbear?)! Bah, why do English letters have to always look the same

Thanks, now when I tell my friends how brilliant you are, I will know how to pronounce your name.

Did you think you were in the stupid question thread? That one is going in my collection.
The extra "t" has no effect on the pronunciation.
