SUMMARY

Microfluidics refers to the manipulation of fluids that flow through channels with diameters less than 1mm. This technology is particularly significant in medical applications, where microfluidic devices enable precise control and analysis of small fluid volumes. The term "microfluidic" is commonly used to describe devices and systems that utilize these small-scale fluid dynamics for various purposes, including diagnostics and drug delivery.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics principles
  • Familiarity with microfabrication techniques
  • Knowledge of biomedical applications of microfluidics
  • Basic concepts of lab-on-a-chip technology
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the design and fabrication of microfluidic devices
  • Explore applications of microfluidics in point-of-care diagnostics
  • Learn about the integration of microfluidics with biosensors
  • Investigate the role of microfluidics in drug delivery systems
USEFUL FOR

Researchers, biomedical engineers, and professionals in the medical field interested in the development and application of microfluidic technologies.

I believe that microfluids are fluids which flow through a tube less than 1mm in diameter.

I am sure such tubes are called "microfluidic this or that", especially in medicine.
