1) A CAR AND A MOTOR CYL. START FROM REST ON A STRAIGHT TRACK. tHE CYC. IS 25 METERS BEHIND THE CAR. CAR ACCEL IS A UNIFORM RATE 3.70 METERS/SEC.2. THE CYLS RATE IS 4.40 METRES/SEC.2
A) TIME BEFORE CYL. OVERTAKES THE CAR?
B) HOW FAR EACH WILL HAVE TRAVELED DURNING THAT TIME?
C) HOW FAR AHEAD WILL THE CYL. BE AHEAD 2 SEC. LATER ASSUNE THE BOTH CONTINUE AT THE SAME RATE.
2) a CAR IS GOING 56 MI/HR SUDDENLY SEES THE LIGHTS OF A BARRIER 130 FEET AWAY. IT TAKE THE DRIVER .750 SEC TO APPLY THE BRAKES (REACTION TIME). WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE MAXIMUM DECEL. IS 30.0 FT/SEC 2? DETERMIN IF THE CAR WILL HIT THE BARRIER OR STOP BEFORE HITTING THE BARRIER
3) a ROCK IS THROWN VERTICALLY UPWARD FROM THE EDGE OF A BUILDING 19.6 METERS HIGH WITH AN INTIAL VELOCITY OF 14.7 METERS/SEC. THE STONE JUST MISSES THE BUILDING ON THE WAY DOWN AND HITS THE STREET BELOW
