hi, I built a crane using hydraulics to move the arm and using an electromagnet at the end of the arm to pick up and move metal objects... what other applications could use hydraulics and electromagnets?

Physics news on Phys.org
Mechanical diggers, excavators, dumper trucks, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders etc all use hydraulic systems with solenoid controlled valves.

There are many potential applications for using both hydraulics and electromagnets together. One example could be in a scrapyard, where the crane you built could be used to move and sort different types of metal using the electromagnet. Additionally, this combination could also be used in manufacturing processes, such as in an assembly line where heavy objects need to be lifted and transported. Another potential application could be in the construction industry, where the crane could be used to move heavy materials and the electromagnet could be used to secure and lift steel beams or other metal components. In the medical field, hydraulics and electromagnets could be used in equipment such as MRI machines, which use both technologies to produce high-quality images. Overall, the combination of hydraulics and electromagnets has a wide range of potential applications in various industries and can greatly enhance efficiency and precision in tasks involving heavy lifting and moving of metal objects.
