Laser eye surgery?

So whats the deal with the all-laser LASIK? My father says i should get it for my... whatever the one is where you cant see that great at long distances...

What are the real advantages and disadvantages??

well the advantages are you fix your eyes, and in some cases they can enhance your eyesight better than the ave 20/20 - but obviously not all eye defects work, such as certain eye curvatures are too radical, and eye damage is slightly(almost negligable with modern day technology) possible, and it costs a pretty penny for just one eye, out here its on ave 1k$ per eye...without specials
