BBC website proclaims that "Dalton" is the founder of Nanotechnology.
I believe this is wrong. Dalton invented the idea of
"atom" as understood in the modern science. My understanding is that
it is Richard Feynman who seriously started thinking about doing
technology
with atoms (or molecules), which was presented in his Caltech talk
"There is plenty of room at the bottom".
