I am having a problem using a serial to USB adapter cable on a laptop with windows XP.
The software which drives the serial device looks on port LPT1. The USB-Serial adapter installed itself on COM4, and I've only found the options to switch it to a different COM port. I don't think there is any way to switch that on the software side, but I've sent the guy who wrote the software an email to find out.
Does anyone know how to switch the device's port from COM to LPT?
