I've worked out a genl soln to the above problem. I dunno if it's worth publishing since it's fairly straightforward. I have never seen it completely treated in any textbook but of course I haven't read every textbook. Has anyone seen a complete treatment anywhere? I haven't completely experimantally verified it but I know that it does work under certain conditions. I just don't wanna waste time reinventing the wheel.
