  • I wanted to post a little anecdote here as I was walking 2-3 miles home because the tram broke down. I'm limited to "only! 500 letters here though(!) and once I get started writing in 0 degrees Celcius Im not stopping. My nickname in this town of 300.000 inhabitants is "Søren Book". You can imagine why. Also, who can say something meaningful in under 500 letters?! ;)

I'll try to send it as a private msg then....
TY for your help on my Rate of Rise challenge.
I think I got the math right. I tried this earlier but it seemed so far off.
84 F per minute would fry everything in the room

My basic attempt to come up to 84 F per min
    using
    80 kW = 276300 BtuH x .24 = 1,151,250 (is this potential lbs of heat capacity)
    / 229 lbs =5027 / 60 =84
I would have suspected somewhere between 2-5 degrees per minute, and that sounds fast.
    TY again

I was just going through my earlier posts and saw a reply/advice you gave me 5 years ago. Just wanted to say thank you, your advice had a positive impact on my career.
I can't comment on the thread. Just wanted to say thanks for replying.

Russ, your eclipse pic is outstanding - I really like how you captured some detail of the front side of the moon. Do you have any images sized to use as desktop backgrounds on-line? Maybe it should go without saying that I'd keep the credit text on the image, but I'll say it anyway.

Hello Sir Russ! today I read your reply regarding Power Factor. I want to know more about KWH savings after Power factor correction. I have a bill with AEP tariff sheet 850 and want to calculate savings if PF is corrected to unity.
