Simply put by Immanuel Kant in his Critique of Pure reason, space, time, mass, and cause and effect are concepts innate within us which we use to organize our perceptions in a way that makes sense to us. In this sense they are subjective (mental) not objective (the physical world outside of us).

    I can see no argument against this. But it Kant is correct (or Locke) then the fundamental pillars of physics rests on what may be called psychological foundations, stuff that is determined by consciousness.

    Then if this is true physical theories extrapolating very far from what is close to us, run the risk of what ultimately determines (for us) what is true -consciousness.
