% rsd

Hi Im new here, but I have a problem with % RSD or CV (Coefficient of variation)
If for example the standard deviation (SD) of a certain set of peaks is Y for sample 1 and another set of sample peaks has the same standard deviation for sample 2 assuming the STDEV model in excel.

However, one set of the mean ( Xavg )is 3 x bigger for sample 2 because of a change in instrument parameters. Now we have (SD)/ (Xavg) = % RSD

The standard deviations of the peak are the same but when dividing by the mean, and since one is much larger we have two different RSDs, and this can become misleading. Is there a way
to correct this ??
