I am doing a course in CAD - most of the course deals with Computer Graphics (Bresenhams, Cohen Sutherland, Transformations etc). I am a very good C/C++ programmer(have programmed professionally for 10+ years) but haven't programmed much of Graphics related stuff, but currently learning.

I am looking for a project to do as part of my coursework. I have upto 2 months of dedicated time to do it.

I am looking for something which is more of programming but contains some amount of mechanical engineering stuff. Even if it's with Mechanical Engineering stuff, but pure Graphics stuff, it's OK. If someone has any suggestions for a good project topic, let me know.
