hi everyone

I'm having problem with these 3 questions that i have to answer for my lab and i was wondering if any of u guys could help me out on these....

any help would be appreciated...

1. so there are the equations and what the question is asking is to write the complete chemical equations and the state of each compound ( The equations should be balanced....)

*charge

MgCl2 + NaOH ---> Products (balanced)
FeCl3 + NaOH
BaCl2 + Na2SO4
CaCl2 + AgNO3
Pb(NO3)2 + Kl
Na2CO3 + HCL
NH4Cl + NaOH

2. Q: Biosphere II was created in 1991 to test the idea that scientists could build a sealed, self-sustaining ecosystem. The carbon dioxide levels in Biosphere II were lower than scientists had predicted. Scientists discovered that the carbon dioxide was reacting with calcium hydroxide, a basic compound in the concrete.

a) Write two balanced questions to show the reactions. Then classify the reactions,. Hint: In the first reaction, carbon dioxide reacts with water in the concrete to form hydrogen carbonate. Hydrogen carbonate, an acid, reacts with calcium hydroxide, a base.

b) Why do you think scientists failed to predicts that this would happen?

c) Suggest ways that scientists could have combatted the problem.

3. Using Balanced Chemical Equation Represent: ( sulfur dioxide reacts with oxygen to form sulfur trioxide, which in turn reacts with liquid water to form sulfuric acid)

a) the formation of the sulfur trioxide in an engine.
b) the reactions of sulfur trioxide in out atmosphere.

Your question set from number 1:
complete chemical equations and the state of each compound ( The equations should be balanced....)

*charge

MgCl2 + NaOH ---> Products (balanced)
FeCl3 + NaOH
BaCl2 + Na2SO4
CaCl2 + AgNO3
Pb(NO3)2 + Kl
Na2CO3 + HCL
NH4Cl + NaOH
Look for results that will produce either precipitates, or a weaker base. The reactants listed in each line are all soluble by themselves.
