I was thinking in the feasibility of constructing an apparatus that can inform you about what's the metric of the zone of spacetime where you are in that moment, kinda like it indicates: "Now we are in a zone of Robertson-walker metric", or in the case you are near a black hole :"Now we are in a zone of Kerr metric". It could be an interesting instrument to carry in a interestellar ship, in the style of the Millennium Falcon, for example. What do you say?
