Microprocessor controlled diesel engines

Hi,
I am a final year Mechanical Engineering student. I am looking for information related to microprocessor controlled diesel engines. I want to know the significant differences between a 'normal' diesel engine vis-a-vis a microprocessor controlled diesel engine.

Is there a website, where I can learn more details? Any website that tells the differences in a quantitave/graphical way would be highly welcome.
