Classical density functional theory to Poisson-Nernst-Planck
I have been told that it is possible to derive the Poisson-Nernst-Planck equations from the density functional formulation of statistical mechanics. Is this the case and if so does anyone know somewhere this can be seen step by step (or at least an overview of the general procedure). I have been searching the web for weeks without any success.
Thank you in advance. |
