after having your head up your thesass for months, it's nice to read some PhD comics and realize that you're not the only one suffering all these little nuances.

I really do enjoy those comics but i would never have thought that reading one would make me shed tears. That is exactly what is happening to me and after 3,5 years, this is exactly what my supervisor told me and I don't want to follow him to the end of the world. This comics could never be so true and so sad...

Isn't there a professor which whom you can continue your research?? Or at least do something in the same line??

This happened to a friend.

In 2007, the University hired a new professor. He got two graduate students: a master's and a Ph.D. The Master's finish in 2009, and the Ph.D. was left to find a new advisor. The professor decided to move (in 2010) from USA to Europe, because he received a really good offer from a really good school. It can happen.
