outsider politicians

i often hear people running for public office saying "i'm an outsider" to distinguish themselves, but there are reasons why i am skeptical of "outsiders".

1. once you get elected, you are no longer on the outside.

2. all insider politicians, even the worst ones, were outsiders, and they likely used that campaign slogan too.

3. experienced politicians may have made a lot of mistakes, but tthat is a part of learning. outsiders have yet to learn their mistakes, so when they are running for a big office, they have to learn their first lessons then.
