Solar battery maintainer for car

Would it be practical to make a solar battery maintainer for my daily driven car using a small like 0.5 watt solar panel? By maintainer I mean something keep sulfation off by having the voltage at like 15v or what ever is required to prevent sulfation. I know this won't charge the battery in any significant amount also
