MSc. in Europe and UK. Advice needed.

Hi guys!
I have completed my BSc. in Mechanical Engineering. Now I plan to do an Msc. I have two options the first one is Manchester University, England. I have selected MSc. Thermal Power and Fluid engineering. My second option is Germany where I applied for MSc. Computational Mechanics at TUM.
I have 2 questions. Which of the above courses is better for a Mechanical Engineer. Secondly, what is the difference between a 1-year master in UK and 2-year Master from elsewhere. Will a 1-year master get in the way if I want to pursue a PhD degree?
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer. Your advice will help me make a better decision.
