That's awesome. It's good to know that there are still some decent people out there.
Surprisingly there are extremely nice people around every corner of the world.

A dad gave his daughter a wonderful high school graduation gift - the book, "Oh The Places You'll Go!" by Dr Seuss. But he bought the book when his daughter was in kindergarten. Then he had each of her teachers (secretly) sign it, writing stories and comments.

What a thoughtful gift!

Awesome! I love hearing about stuff like this, because the uh...family planning starts next year. We're in the pre-pre-pre planning phase, where we get to think of fun stuff like this but not "how much is this going to cost?"

On the news just now, a family complains that their car was broken into at a hotel at which they were staying to spend the weekend at an expensive water park. What did they complain was stolen? Their food stamps.

If you need food stamps, how can you afford to stay at a nice hotel and attend an expensive water park? These were not cheap places.
Do you have any idea how many hours of pandering at freeway exits it took to save the money for that trip?

British summer weather on steroids today. Thunder and lightning for 3 hours straight without a break. Still, the good news is I won't need to jet-wash the car!

No flooding here though, unlike other parts of the UK.

I have had plenty of heavy rain recently, but the T-storms have skirted us. Today has been relatively dry, so perhaps the road-crews got a chance to repair some of the destruction. Maine's Vogon Tea-Party Governor decided to visit some of the hardest-hit areas today so he could have his picture taken viewing the damaged roads. What's the point? He is not an engineer and has no expertise in this area. The up-side is that he is not in the state capitol causing more damage.

No rain but I got soaking wet setting up and adjusting some old in-line sprinkler heads similar to these.
