Ontario Drainage Code`

I am helping to bid a job and the prints use a generic Ontario Provisional Standards drawing for the rock checks. I have to do a plan takeoff to see how much gravel is required. It is very difficult to even get an idea of what the check will look like. Am I stupid or is this drawing not specific enough. Has anyone done one of these to this spec? (Please know that yes, I do know it is just a pile of rocks).
