It's odd to get sick from the vaccine since the virus itself is dead, are you allergic to eggs or latex? That seems to be the ingredients that people have reactions to.

Not allergic to either of those. Not sure what it is. Just gives me the hurlies. (Though I know that's not the flu itself, of course).

I was once telling a friend how upsetting it is to think of how much was lost. How far back did this set humanity? He listened and agreed but suggested that I should have gotten over it by now.

The animals only I can see are as real as the eigenvalues of a Hermitian operator.

I had the Flintstones theme song stuck in my head for no apparent reason, when my wife burst out singing it too. We are attempting to track the origin of the earworm or figure out if one of us started doing it earlier and infected the other. Or if it's just a highly improbable event.

I broke down and bought myself a new plush bathrobe at Walmart tonight, it cost $14. My last robe was a thread bare cheap faded terry cloth thing that my last cat had scratched to threads. I will keep it always because he shredded it and he passed away.

This is cheap, but plush and soft, it feels like being covered in kittens. With their claws retracted.

It gets worse when you get old.

The only consolation is that you have more experience at generating excuses.

Example:

Yesterday, I emailed Mary X in Payroll a question, that I'd intended to send to Mary Y in IT, because Mary Y is in charge of processing all the payroll checks.

Confusion mine. Senility laughs, for everyone.

"I think it's evil for people to propagate rumors on the Internet to frighten children" - David Morrison, an astrobiologist at NASA Ames Research Center.

http://news.yahoo.com/2012-mayan-apo...003208647.html

NASA scientists took questions via social media in the hour-long video chat, debunking doomsday myths from the rogue planet Nibiru to the danger of killer solar flares.

In fact, said NASA heliophysicist Lika Guhathakurta, it's true that the sun is currently in an active phase of its cycle, meaning electromagnetic energy has picked up. Large solar flares can impact electronics and navigation systems on Earth, but satellites monitoring the sun give plenty of warning and allow officials to compensate for the extra electromagnetic activity when it hits our atmosphere. What's more, Guhathakurta said, this particular solar maximum is the "wimpiest" in some time scientists have no reason to expect solar storms beyond what our planet has weathered in the past.

Nor are any near-Earth objects, planetary or otherwise, threatening to slam into our planet on Dec. 21, said Don Yeomans, . . .

. . .

Other rumors that the Earth's magnetic field will suddenly reverse or that the planet will travel almost 30,000 light-years and fall into the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy were also dismissed.

. . .
I'm astounded at the ridiculous notions behind various rumors.
