I remember loading programs by flipping toggle switches, and loading the operating system on "large" computers with paper tape. In fact, the first mini computer that I worked on, and even the first head scanners [CAT scanners], loaded the operating system with paper tape. The next model CAT scan went high tech and got reel to reel systems instead of paper. WOW!

But I never used punch cards.
