Hey,
I am interested in building a simple silent alarm for a door. All I want to do is set up a system so that a light will blink when the door is opened. I am trying to set this up in a school building for when another teacher enters the room unexpectedly. I'm a TA and it makes it very difficult not to get the teacher in trouble when she keeps coming in and no one notices. Thanks!

I understand the importance of creating a safe and secure environment in a school setting. Your idea for a simple silent alarm for a school door is a great way to ensure that unexpected visitors are noticed without causing any disruption to the class.

One possible solution could be to use a magnetic door sensor and connect it to a small circuit board that includes a blinking LED light. The sensor would be placed on the door and the circuit board could be hidden behind a wall or in a discreet location. When the door is opened, the magnet on the door will separate from the sensor, completing the circuit and causing the LED light to blink. This would serve as a silent alert to the teacher in the room that someone has entered without causing any disturbance to the class.

Additionally, you could also consider incorporating a wireless transmitter that could send a notification to a designated device, such as a phone or computer, to further ensure that the teacher is aware of the visitor.

It is important to keep in mind that any type of alarm system in a school setting should be carefully planned and implemented to avoid any false alarms or confusion. It may also be necessary to obtain permission from school administration before installing any type of system.

Overall, your idea for a simple silent alarm for a school door is a practical and effective way to address the issue of unexpected visitors and maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
