    Genius
In summary: I abhor the man but I think you are right, he probably does believe that he's doing the "right" thing for his country. Also, globally we're all dependent on oil for far more than the fuel in our cars so it's pretty much turning into a case of "survival of the fittest" (with the States being pretty fit).

See.. a lot of us think george bush is stupid but here's my theory. George bush is actualy a genius so he uses a tactic so briliant that it alows him to run america in any way he wants. he acts stupid so that if he does something the general population dosent agree with he can just be like "oh its ok I'm just an idiot so i guess i will keep doing it"

situation 1: George... there are no weapons of mass distruction... you know that so why are u still in the middle east? "Georges response:eek:hhh christ don't worry about it man I'm just an idiot so i think i'll just stay and plunder the oil loots." lol

W. aspired to be the commissioner of baseball. He was an average guy with father who was head of the CIA, then VP then president. He successfully got out of serving in Vietnam by knowing the right people who could jump him to the head of the line to get into the Texas National Guard. He came out of nowhere to become governor of Texas. After a few years as Gov there, he was declared as the "frontrunner" for the GOP nomination, while America scratched his head and said "who"?

Following a campaign that managed to turn Gore from a "boyscout" and "one of the most trustworthy members of congress" (a paraphrase of George Will's words on an episode of Crossfire, or Meet the Press, 1992) into a perceived pathological liar.

When nominated, W read one of the most unbelievable announcements for choosing Cheney as his running mate ("and it turned out that the best choice for this position had been standing beside me all this time").

W is not the genius behind the administration. The white house has been in the hands of Cheney and http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/060529/29addington.htm" since the start.

I think that, like Hitler, Bush was a dupe put in power by those that wanted to use him. Fortunately for us he doesn't have the charisma that Hitler did.

You think Hitler was a puppet? Who was pulling the strings?

That's one I've never heard before.

I am amazed as you are, Russ. I am not aware of a single fact that might even suggest that Hitler was anything other than a true totalitarian despot.

I am no fan of Bush ("Oh really?") but let's be careful with comparison to Hitler and Nazis. I don't believe that Bush is evil or even "nefarious." He probably truly believes that he is doing what's best for the country. His methods are heavily shaded and guided and blinded by the corporate oil mentality. I dislike it greatly, but...As long as I fill my gas tank, I can not declare it evil without certain hypocrisy.

I'm not an American, but I think Chi has put it rather nicely.

We can just all hope that the surge in R&D related to alternative energy sources bears a lot of fruit soon enough to stop this madness...I don't know what it's like in the US, but we've had a 25% increase in petrol prices over the past 4 months...

Anyway, I'm straying way off topic here...

I was thinking the same thing...

Anyway, there is a saying credited to Napoleon that reads "Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence"

That's a great quote!

1. Why do some people consider George Bush to be a genius?

Some people believe that George Bush's success in becoming the President of the United States is evidence of his intelligence and strategic thinking.

2. What qualifications or accomplishments make George Bush a genius?

George Bush graduated from Yale University and Harvard Business School, and served as the Governor of Texas before becoming President. He also led the United States through significant events such as the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the Iraq War.

3. How has George Bush demonstrated his intelligence during his presidency?

During his presidency, George Bush made several strategic decisions that were seen as successful, such as implementing the No Child Left Behind Act and initiating the Medicare prescription drug benefit program.

4. Are there any criticisms or controversies regarding George Bush's intelligence?

While some people view George Bush as a genius, others criticize his presidency and decisions. Some have questioned his intelligence due to his public speaking errors and handling of the Iraq War.

5. Is there scientific evidence to support the claim that George Bush is a genius?

There is no scientific evidence that definitively proves or disproves George Bush's intelligence. However, intelligence is a complex and multifaceted concept, and opinions on whether someone is a "genius" can vary greatly.
