What are the Properties of Circumscribed Quadrilaterals?

In summary, the first conversation discusses finding the length of AD in a quadrilateral ABCD that is circumscribed about circle O. The second conversation involves finding the center and radius of a given equation. The third conversation involves finding the intersection point(s) of two equations. The best approach for solving these problems is to sketch the given figures or graphs and use the given information to find the desired values. It is important for the individual to show their own attempts at solving the problems before seeking help.

1) Quadrillateral ABCD is circumscribed about circle O. AB=7, BC=11 DC=8. Find AD.

2) Find the center and radius of the equation: X(squared)-12x+y(squared)+14y+4=0

3) Find the intersection point(s) of the equations:
5x+6y=30
x(squared)+y(squared)=25

Alright i solved 1 of them. Now i still need to know...

1) Quadrillateral ABCD is circumscribed about circle O. AB=7, BC=11 DC=8. Find AD.

and

2)Find the intersection point(s) of the equations:
5x+6y=30
x^2+y^2=25

1) sketch a circle with a circumscribed quadrillateral. notice that the diameter can help you make a triangle.

2) try sketching the graphs. Both equations are of specific type so you will see the answer

And what are you thoughts on these two ..? We only can help you when you show how you tried to tackle the question to see where your problems are. For 2) drawing a picture might be a good start. We're not going to do your homework for you, and btw there is a homework help section here dedicated to this kind of question.

Can someone please merge these threads und move them to the homework section?

1. What is geometry?

Geometry is a branch of mathematics that deals with the study of shapes, sizes, positions, and dimensions of objects in space.

2. What are the different types of geometry?

The three main types of geometry are Euclidean, non-Euclidean, and analytic geometry. Euclidean geometry is the study of flat shapes and their properties, while non-Euclidean geometry deals with curved shapes. Analytic geometry uses algebraic equations and coordinates to study geometric shapes.

3. What are the basic elements of geometry?

The basic elements of geometry are points, lines, and planes. A point is a single location in space, a line is a straight path extending infinitely in both directions, and a plane is a flat surface that extends infinitely in all directions.

4. What is the Pythagorean theorem?

The Pythagorean theorem states that in a right triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. It can be written as a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where c is the length of the hypotenuse and a and b are the lengths of the other two sides.

5. How is geometry used in real life?

Geometry is used in various fields such as architecture, engineering, art, and navigation. It helps in creating and designing buildings, bridges, and other structures, as well as in determining distances and angles for navigation. In art, geometry is used to create symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing designs. It also has practical applications in everyday tasks such as measuring and cutting materials.
