Question on Cherenkov light polarization
Hi everyone.
I have a question about Cherenkov radiation. I know that the light emitted by Cherenkov effect is linearly polarized, with polarization direction perpendicular to the surface of the Cherenkov cone (i.e. the electric field oscillations are perpendicular to this surface). Why this happen? Is there any classical explanation? |
