Is MIT bag model suitable for quark fragmentation process?

MIT bag model is a famous model, which can be used for calculating quark distribution function in hadrons.
Fragmentation function shares a lot of similarities with distribution function.
So I wonder if we can use bag model to handle fragmentation process? What are the differences?
