[Paper and presentation] Mechanics in Computer

In summary, the conversation discusses a group assignment on mechanics that involves writing a paper and creating a presentation on a specific topic. The speaker's group has chosen to focus on rotational mechanics in CD-ROM, and they discuss using equations and searching for images and videos on the topic. They also ask for suggestions on other matters to include in their research.

Homework Statement

Hi guys!
I have pre-midterm assignment in group to write a paper an d a presentation on the screen about mechanics. My group gives me a job to decide more specific topic and to search the matter (articles, pictures, videos, etc.) also about that specific one.
Do you think our topic is good? Any other interesting or hot topic (due to the trend of mechanics research recently)?

Homework Equations

Equations would be essential in that paper: I think it would be such:
$ [tex]\theta=\theta_0+\omega_0t+ \frac{1}{2} \alpha^2[/tex]$
or
$[tex]F=ma[/tex]$

The Attempt at a Solution

Actually I have decide the specific topic is: rotational mechanics in CD-ROM,.
I have tried picture-googling to find a CD picture, and see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-ROM" .
Youtube also would be very valuable in search of video.
What kind of other matters I was suggested to search? Where?

Sorry, I don't see that I've made double thread. I don't mind if this thread would be deleted. :)

I think your topic on rotational mechanics in CD-ROM is a great choice for your paper and presentation. It is a very relevant and interesting topic, especially in the field of computer science. Rotational mechanics plays a crucial role in the functioning of CD-ROM drives, so it is definitely worth exploring in more detail.

In terms of other interesting or hot topics in mechanics research, you could consider looking into the application of mechanics in robotics or autonomous vehicles. These are both rapidly evolving fields with a lot of ongoing research and developments. Another hot topic could be the use of mechanics in 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

When searching for articles, pictures, and videos, I would recommend using reputable scientific databases such as Google Scholar or ScienceDirect. These will provide you with peer-reviewed articles and reliable sources. Additionally, you can also look into conferences or journals specifically focused on mechanics or computer science to find relevant and up-to-date information.

In terms of equations, the ones you have mentioned are definitely important and relevant for your topic. You may also want to consider including equations related to rotational motion, such as angular velocity and torque.

Overall, I think you have chosen a great topic and with thorough research, your paper and presentation will be a success. Good luck!
