I have a question concerning the menstrual cycle. Is it possible for someone to bleed from the urethra instead of the vagina? And if so what is the cause?

A friend claims that she bleeds the urethra when on her cycle but I to find out if it's true or not.

It may be endometriosis but without visiting a doctor it's impossible to know. Tell your friend she should go see a urologist as soon as possible.

1. What is the menstrual cycle?

The menstrual cycle is a series of natural changes that occur in the female reproductive system each month. It is controlled by hormones and prepares the body for a potential pregnancy.

2. How long does the menstrual cycle last?

The average menstrual cycle lasts about 28 days, but it can range from 21 to 35 days. It is different for every woman and can vary from month to month.

3. What are the phases of the menstrual cycle?

The menstrual cycle has four phases: the menstrual phase, follicular phase, ovulation phase, and luteal phase. The menstrual phase is when the uterus sheds its lining, the follicular phase is when the egg matures, ovulation is when the egg is released, and the luteal phase is when the uterine lining thickens in preparation for pregnancy.

4. What causes irregular periods?

Irregular periods can be caused by a variety of factors, such as stress, changes in weight, hormonal imbalances, and certain medications. It is important to talk to a healthcare provider if you experience irregular periods.

5. Can you get pregnant during your menstrual cycle?

It is possible to get pregnant during your menstrual cycle, although it is less likely. The most fertile time is during ovulation, but sperm can survive in the body for up to 5 days, so it is important to use contraception if you do not want to become pregnant.
