Discussing Guys' Rules for Women: Agree or Disagree?

In summary: Okay, I get it! You don't want to hear about my fashion choices. > 11. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.Agreed, but if you're asking us, you're probably not measuring yourself accurately. A lot of women carry more weight than they think, and it's not because they're lazy or eat too much junk food. Plus, you don't have to wear a dress to be pretty--you don't have to wear anything at all! > 13. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how

GUYS' RULES FOR WOMEN:

LOL! Being female, I of course need to argue with a few of them

> 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

Actually, you do need the seat down about half the time. Well, maybe more than that by the amount of time men disappear into the bathroom for after picking up a magazine. Both the seat AND LID belong down (otherwise when you flush, all the germs from the bowl get sprayed all over the bathroom...including onto your toothbrush. :yuck:

>
> 2. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

Okay, but remember, Sunday afternoon is when women have the highest probability of being "in the mood"...if you'd rather watch sports, we can wait a week

> 4. Crying is blackmail.

> 8. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

Agreed, especially since the best cure for a headache is just what that excuse is trying to avoid. However, headaches rarely occur on Sundays (see #2).

> 9. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

Nah ah, no way! There's no statute of limitations for incriminating comments! If you don't want it admitted into a later argument, don't say it. :approve:

> 10. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

We'd dress like the Victoria's Secret models if you got the hint when we left the catalog out on the table opened to that page with that little teddy circled.

> 11. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

Not getting an answer to this question causes headaches. Getting the wrong answer to this question causes headaches. There is only one acceptable answer to this question, memorize it: "Of course you're not fat, it's those horrid jeans that just make you look that way! Here's my credit card, go buy something that will show off your beautiful figure better."

> 15. Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we.

And Christopher Columbus was trying to get to the West Indies.

> 16. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

Mauve is simple, sort of a cross between a strawberry and lavender, with just a little shadow.

> 18. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

When we say, "nothing," it means it's YOUR fault. :grumpy: We know if we told you the truth, you couldn't handle it. Ignoring us will only make it worse. The only way out is to pretend shopping is a sport.

> 25. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

That's good since the screen we've been nagging you to fix is still broken, so you'll be sharing the living room with a whole squadron of mosquitoes  ...just like real camping.

This is why I don't date anyone over 140 lbs.

I don't understand... When my lady does something I don't like, such as speak when not spoken too, I just throw her in the closet for a few days. Just make sure you've thoroughly crushed their self-esteem or else they might try and contact the outside world.

Just kidding of course. I'm usually a sucker for being conned into things by women. Nice guys finish last as they say...

As a matter of fact I have three prominent scars. One from my apendix which burst, so its a lot bigger than just having an normal inflamed apendix. Then two from the steel bar in my chest. Too bad there operation scars and not scars from some horrible accident like from a bar fight or wrestling a shark... Oh wait I have some others from went I totalled my first car. I broke the driver side window with my elbow and got glass shards in it.

Wow, Entropy. Glass actually went inside your elbow??

2. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be

So long as the same rules apply to our watching of HGTV

6. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

This is not acceptable. Try again

7. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.

disagree

7a. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

*slap* There. I hope your girlfriend feel sorry for you

10. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

12. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

Us poor men can never win. Which is why I stopped playing women's games. I am my own man, and there aint nothing they can do about it... other than avoid me like the plague, but when I am a successful single man with my own house and nice car, I will become irresistable, and will have women diving for my wallet. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh yeah Moonbear. Strawberry is a RED fruit. Lavender is a blue/purple/pink/ flower (I forget which it is  ).

It's not entirely accurate. The germ content of toilet water is generally relatively low and the quantity of water that gets splashed up is quite small. However there are other things in it that I would probably not want to have atomized and sprayed on my toothbrush. Feel free to make your own descisions.

After having kids, my wife and I realized that the battle of the sexes was small potatoes. We long for those petty squabbles in the days before we were enslaved by our tyrannical and diminutive underlords. :frown: "Yes master, I will change your diaper. There is no need to pull it off yourself and whirl it about the room as a demonstration of your power."

Not only is that true, but putting the lid down doesn't help one bit. There was an old book called The Secret House that showed how we live among literally millions of life forms from bacteria to mites in our eyelashes, and never dream they are there.

:grumpy: Hey, don't tell them putting the lid down doesn't help! It's the only reasoning that usually gets men to comply with that little etiquette rule.

But I figure if I expect the seat down, then it's only fair that I put the lid down too. Actually, it's just much easier to not share living space with the opposite sex.

I guess if I have survived this long...

The biggest problem in my household is the issue of which one of us is the one using too much toilet paper. (it's not me)

  • #26
this is funny...Some of these rules hit the nail right on the head. From my perspective, concerning the toilet seat, I see no reason to make any sort of deal about something so pointless. The energy you use to put up or down the seat is less than how much you used to post a reply lolk

> 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

Men also need it down while doing ah... they I think don't often put it bac k up after doing this. The same is with women when they do another thing.

> 2. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

It's not necessary to watch sports every sunday, actually it would be better for men to do sports, not just watch. A full moon and tides are as yet unchangable with our current technology.

3. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

I'm not exactly sure but I think women do it, because they want to look good and please men. If a man likes her as is, then he should tell her to stop.

> 4. Crying is blackmail.
I've no opinion on this one, sorry.

> 5. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

Men also do the same thing. Not everyone tells the truth and reveals the desire right away. How many Guys would go to a woman and tell straight forward, I want to have sex with you. Not quite many. There are things you don't want to say right away because you don't want to feel humiliated or repulsed.

> 6. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

No :tongue2: A perfectly acceptable answer is Yes or No plus a good reason.

> 7. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

Where would a men go if they have problems, they'd like to talk about, with someone.

11. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

I disagree with this one. My experience has been the majority of women think they're overweight. As in "oh no! Triple digits!"

  • #29
I agree with most of them, although I always put the seat and lid down. I'm aware of the atomization effect, but the main reason is because either I or my cat will knock things into the toilet that don't belong there. She does it on purpose; I'm just a klutz. Anyhow, I figure that any woman who is stupid enough to fall in if you leave the seat up is probably also stupid enough to piss on the lid if you leave it down.

Women believe if a pet cat strays, it's because of a lack of affection at home. Women believe if a pet dog strays, it's because of a lack of affection at home. Women believe if a woman strays, it's because of a lack of affection at home. Women believe if a man strays, it's because men are scum.

Guys don't say it straight up because the women doesn't want to hear that! He'll just get slapped and she'll walk away. Kind of like woolie's incident. :tongue2:

1. What are the main rules that guys have for women?

The main rules that guys have for women can vary depending on the individual, but some common ones include expecting women to be more submissive, not showing emotions, and being responsible for household chores and child-rearing.

2. Do these rules apply to all men?

No, these rules do not apply to all men. Every person is different and may have their own set of expectations and beliefs when it comes to relationships and gender roles.

3. Are these rules fair to women?

Many would argue that these rules are not fair to women as they often perpetuate gender stereotypes and limit women's autonomy and agency in relationships. It is important for individuals to have equal and respectful expectations for their partners regardless of gender.

4. Can these rules change over time?

Yes, these rules can change over time as societal norms and expectations evolve. As more people challenge traditional gender roles and expectations, these rules may shift or become less prevalent.

5. How can we promote more equal and respectful relationships between men and women?

Promoting open and honest communication, challenging traditional gender roles and expectations, and promoting mutual respect and equality are key ways to promote more equal and respectful relationships between men and women. It is also important for individuals to critically examine their own beliefs and behaviors and strive to create partnerships based on equality and mutual understanding.
