This can happen as a result of a genetic mutation or environmental factors. In summary, A person took a picture of an orchid plant at their window sill and noticed that one of the flowers had green marks, which is unusual as the other flowers are all white. They asked if this is normal or strange and if anyone had any knowledge about it. Some suggestions were made, such as it being underdeveloped or a mutation creating a new strain of orchid. However, it was noted that this is only happening to one flower and the others are normal. It was also jokingly suggested to name it the "pooh

I took this picture at my window sill

This orchid plant normally produces flowers with all white petals, like the flower in the back. However this one is clearly deviating with those green marks.

Is that normal or strange? Anybody who can shed some light on this?

Perhaps it's some sort of mutation and you have come up with a new strain of orchid. You may need to name it.The "pooh bear orchid" has a nice ring to it.

Problem is, that it is only this single flower. The other flowers of this plant are just as it should be, white.

Anyway, it can't be a pooh orchid, those are hunny colored
