Miniature Liquid Flow Sensor for Mili & High Micro Flows

In summary, a miniature liquid flow sensor is a compact and highly sensitive device used to measure the rate of flow of liquid in a system. It works by using a small probe that detects pressure differentials and converts them into an electrical signal. The advantages of using this type of sensor include its compact size, high sensitivity, and versatility in measuring different types of liquids. When choosing a sensor, it is important to consider factors such as the type of liquid being measured, flow rate range, accuracy, and compatibility with the system. Consulting with a specialist or conducting thorough research can help in selecting the best sensor for a specific application.

Hello Gentlemen,

I'm in need of a miniature liquid flow sensor capable of measuring liquid flows in the mili and possibly high micro ranges that is quite accurate. I seem not to find much on the internet as most of the sensors are for greater flow capacities.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards Miles.

Hello

This one has a maximum flow rate of 40 µl/min: http://www.sensirion.ch/en/02_liquid_flow_sensors/03_liquid_flow_meter/01_slg-1430.htm"
Here's the data sheet: "www.sensirion.com/images/getFile?id=35"[/URL]

Dear Miles,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your need for a miniature liquid flow sensor for mili and high micro flows. I understand the importance of accuracy in measuring such small flow ranges and the difficulty in finding suitable sensors on the market.

I would recommend looking into microfluidic sensors, which are specifically designed for measuring small liquid flows. These sensors use microchannels and microscale features to accurately measure and control fluid flow at the micro level. They are also capable of measuring both low and high flow rates, making them suitable for your needs.

Some companies that specialize in microfluidic sensors include Micronit Microtechnologies, Fluigent, and Dolomite Microfluidics. I suggest reaching out to them to discuss your specific requirements and see if they have a sensor that meets your needs.

Another option is to consider custom-made sensors. Many research institutions and companies offer custom sensor development services, where they can design and manufacture a sensor specifically tailored to your needs. This may be a more costly option, but it would ensure the accuracy and functionality of the sensor for your specific application.

I hope this information helps in your search for a suitable miniature liquid flow sensor. Best of luck in your research and please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Best regards,

1. What is a miniature liquid flow sensor?

A miniature liquid flow sensor is a small device that is used to measure the rate of flow of liquid in a system. It is designed to be compact and highly sensitive, making it ideal for measuring low and high micro flows.

2. How does a miniature liquid flow sensor work?

A miniature liquid flow sensor works by using a small, sensitive probe that is inserted into the flow of liquid. As the liquid flows past the probe, it creates a pressure differential which is then converted into an electrical signal that can be measured and used to determine the flow rate.

3. What are the advantages of using a miniature liquid flow sensor?

There are several advantages to using a miniature liquid flow sensor. These include its compact size, high sensitivity, and ability to accurately measure both low and high micro flows. It is also easy to install and can be used in a variety of applications such as medical devices, water systems, and industrial processes.

4. Can a miniature liquid flow sensor be used for different types of liquids?

Yes, a miniature liquid flow sensor can be used for a wide range of liquids, including water, oils, chemicals, and more. However, it is important to select the appropriate sensor for the specific type of liquid being measured in order to ensure accurate readings.

5. How do I choose the right miniature liquid flow sensor for my application?

There are a few factors to consider when choosing a miniature liquid flow sensor, such as the type of liquid being measured, the flow rate range, and the required accuracy. It is also important to consider the physical size and compatibility of the sensor with your system. Consulting with a specialist or conducting thorough research can help in selecting the best sensor for your specific application.
