Have you tried the free FEM solver iPad app for structural engineering?

In summary, the conversation is about a newly developed iPad app called "Sketch a Frame" that is designed for educational purposes. The app is free and uses FEM beam elements to help users solve problems related to moment, normal force, and normal tension. It is intuitive to use and has a playful approach without using numbers. The app can be found on the App Store under the same name or through the provided link.

I have just finished my master thesis developing an iPad app for educational purposes. It's completely free and it can be used to solve problems using FEM beam elements, intuitive to use and works in a playful way without any numbers just to help users get a feel for different constructions and how the moment, normal force and normal tension are distributed.

Would be nice to hear what you think of it. You can find it under the name "Sketch a Frame" or using the below link:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sketch-a-frame/id563527046?l=sv&ls=1&mt=8

Thank you!

What is a "Free FEM solver iPad app"?

A "Free FEM solver iPad app" is an application that uses the finite element method (FEM) to solve mathematical problems on an iPad for free. The finite element method is a numerical technique used to approximate solutions to partial differential equations.

How does a "Free FEM solver iPad app" work?

A "Free FEM solver iPad app" works by breaking down a complex mathematical problem into smaller, simpler elements. These elements are then solved using mathematical algorithms and techniques, such as matrix operations and interpolation, to approximate the solution to the original problem.

What can a "Free FEM solver iPad app" be used for?

A "Free FEM solver iPad app" can be used to solve a wide range of problems in various fields, such as structural engineering, fluid mechanics, and electromagnetics. It can also be used for educational purposes, to help students understand and visualize complex mathematical concepts.

How accurate is a "Free FEM solver iPad app"?

The accuracy of a "Free FEM solver iPad app" depends on several factors, such as the complexity of the problem, the quality of the mesh used, and the choice of mathematical algorithms. In general, these apps can provide accurate solutions, but they may not be as precise as more advanced and specialized software.

Is a "Free FEM solver iPad app" easy to use?

Most "Free FEM solver iPad apps" are designed to be user-friendly and intuitive. However, some basic knowledge of the finite element method and mathematical concepts may be necessary to use these apps effectively. Some apps may also offer tutorials or user guides to help users get started.
