Hi everyone,

This is not a college problem per se. I have been working for a quite some time now and have been developing in the area of physics for sometime now. I would like to join a university and complete a degree. However, due to certain circumstances, I cannot really stop working and pursue a program full-time.

I came across Open University of UK and noticed that they offer a bachelors of physics online. Open University is quite recognized from what I hear. However, I would like to know if it is worth it to joint his program. Would I be able to join a masters later in another school after I finish this program.

The description of the program and the courses can be found under:

I would really appreciate it if someone would take the time to make a recommendation.

Thanks,

Xargon

Dear Xargon,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Pursuing a degree in physics while also working can be challenging, but it is definitely possible with the availability of online programs like the one offered by Open University of UK. This university is well-recognized and has a good reputation in the field of physics, so enrolling in their online program could be a good choice for you.

In terms of the program itself, I would recommend thoroughly reviewing the course descriptions and curriculum to ensure that it aligns with your academic and career goals. It is also important to note that online programs may require a high level of self-motivation and discipline to successfully complete the coursework.

As for your question about joining a masters program after completing this bachelors program, it is important to research the specific requirements and accreditation of the universities you are interested in. Some universities may have specific prerequisites or may not accept online degrees for admission into their masters programs. It would be beneficial to reach out to the admissions offices of these universities to inquire about their policies.

In summary, the Open University of UK's online bachelors program in physics could be a valuable opportunity for you to continue your education while also working. However, it is important to thoroughly research and consider your options before making a decision. I wish you all the best in your academic pursuits.

Hello Xargon,

It's great to hear that you have a passion for physics and are considering pursuing a degree in it. While I cannot give a definitive recommendation, I can offer some advice based on my own experience and knowledge.

Firstly, Open University is a reputable and well-respected institution. Their online programs are designed for working professionals and offer flexibility in terms of scheduling. This makes it a great option for someone like you who cannot attend a traditional full-time program.

In terms of the program itself, it seems to cover all the essential topics in physics and offers a good foundation for further studies. However, it's always a good idea to research and compare the curriculum with other universities to ensure that it meets your academic and career goals.

As for pursuing a masters after completing this program, it is definitely possible. However, it ultimately depends on the specific requirements of the university you wish to attend. Some may require additional courses or credits, while others may accept your bachelors degree from Open University. It's best to reach out to the universities you are interested in and inquire about their transfer policies.

Overall, I believe that the Open University physics program would be a good fit for you given your circumstances. Just make sure to thoroughly research and compare it with other programs to ensure it aligns with your goals. Best of luck in your academic journey!
