According to the sources provided, Korea and Japan are already utilizing the technology of water ionizers, while it is a relatively new concept in the USA and Canada. The ionizers work by separating water into alkaline and acidic forms, with the alkaline water being suitable for consumption and the acidic water used for skin and hair care. However, there is skepticism towards the effectiveness of ionized water, with some considering it to be a gimmick and not worth the investment. pH 3 water, a byproduct of the ionization process, is also not recommended for daily use due to its high acidity. In summary, the use of alkaline ionized water is a debated topic and further research is needed before making a decision on whether to incorporate it

According to the following article, Korea and Japan are using this technology. It is a new concept in the USA and maybe in Canada.

I would like to hear from people who are using it -- should we drink alkaline ionized water?

sends the water through a special ionizing chamber which separates the water into hydrogen ions and hydroxyl ions to form two very distinct types of water - the alkaline water is used for drinking (internal use) and the acidic water can be used for skin and hair care

Pure nonsense and snake oil.

Edit: pH 3 water is a 0.001M solution of strong acid, I would not use such acid to wash my hands on the daily basis.

1. What is alkaline ionized water?

Alkaline ionized water is water that has been treated through a process called electrolysis, which separates the water into two streams - one acidic and one alkaline. The alkaline stream is then used for drinking, cooking, and other purposes.

2. What are the claimed benefits of drinking alkaline ionized water?

Some claimed benefits of drinking alkaline ionized water include improved hydration, better digestion, increased energy, and enhanced detoxification. It is also said to have antioxidant properties and can help balance the body's pH levels.

3. Is there any scientific evidence to support the benefits of alkaline ionized water?

While there have been some studies done on the effects of alkaline ionized water, the results have been inconclusive and more research is needed. Some studies have shown potential benefits, while others have found no significant difference between alkaline ionized water and regular water.

4. Are there any risks associated with drinking alkaline ionized water?

There are no known risks associated with drinking alkaline ionized water. However, it is important to note that the long-term effects of regularly consuming alkaline water are still unknown. It is always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet.

5. Is alkaline ionized water worth the cost?

This is a subjective question as the cost of alkaline ionized water can vary depending on the source and method of production. Some people believe the potential benefits are worth the cost, while others may not see a noticeable difference in their health. Ultimately, it is a personal decision that should be based on individual needs and budget.
