Turn data logger into real time streaming.?

Is there any way to take a device that stores data to memory ,e.g. gps data logger or video camera, and stream it to a laptop in real time? I'm trying to find a way of taking the video footage taken from a mini HD keyring video camera and instead of storing it to an SD card, transmit it in real time to my laptop. Or even for a gps data logger so it can give a real time position? Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
