Hello everyone...

I have a little question on simulink. When forces acting on a certain body are given (just like a spring-damped system for example) can we automatically implement such a model in simulink by only using the equations of motion (mä = sum of given forces) or do I always need to convert the problem into a space state-modell using laplace transforms and determining the matrices…

regards

Hello Marlon,

Thank you for your question about forces acting on a body in SIMULINK. The answer to your question depends on the complexity of your system and the level of accuracy you require. In most cases, you can use the equations of motion (sum of forces) to model the system in SIMULINK. However, if your system is highly complex and requires a more accurate representation, then converting it into a state-space model using Laplace transforms and matrices may be necessary.

It is important to note that SIMULINK offers various tools and techniques to model and simulate dynamic systems, so it would be beneficial to explore all available options and choose the one that best suits your needs.

I hope this helps. Best of luck with your simulation!
