In summary, this model is a ramjet UAV from the late 60's or 70's. It is unknown what it is, but it may be from that era. The Evergreen Aviation Museum in Oregon has one, and it may be helpful to look for clues in the landmark thread.

I found this model among a few that a family member used to have, but I can't seem to find out exactly what it is.

It looks like some type of ramjet UAV from the late 60's or 70's. Any ideas?

I would not have found it, had it not been for my years of experience in the Where's That Landmark thread.

Ha! I thought Fuzzyfelt was going to hold the record, with 6 weeks. It's been over a year since I posted the last landmark. :bugeye:

hmmm... Maybe they want another clue.

Do they still have the 747 water-slide?

I've heard of the place, but I actually don't know where McMinville is.
Though I know it's closer than Kansas.

I still haven't been able to identify the ladies in that picture in the landmark thread. I will get it one of these days. Another clue would be nice.:approve:

1. What are the steps for identifying an unknown aircraft model?

The first step is to gather as much information as possible about the aircraft, such as its size, shape, color, markings, and any distinguishing features. Next, research the manufacturer and look for similar models that match the gathered information. You can also consult with experts or utilize online resources, such as aircraft databases and forums, for assistance in identification.

2. Can photographs help in identifying an unknown aircraft model?

Yes, photographs can be very helpful in identifying an unknown aircraft model. Make sure to take clear photos from different angles, including close-ups of any distinguishing features. These photos can be compared to known models and may provide valuable clues for identification.

3. Is it necessary to know the year the aircraft was built in order to identify its model?

Knowing the year the aircraft was built can certainly aid in the identification process, but it is not always necessary. Other identifying factors, such as its size, shape, and markings, can still help determine the model even without the year of production.

4. How long does it typically take to identify an unknown aircraft model?

The time it takes to identify an unknown aircraft model can vary depending on the availability of information and resources. It could take anywhere from a few hours to several days or even weeks. It is important to be thorough and patient in the identification process.

5. Are there any common mistakes to avoid when trying to identify an unknown aircraft model?

One common mistake to avoid is assuming the model based on a single feature or characteristic. It is important to gather as much information as possible and compare it to various models before making a conclusion. It is also important to double check any information or sources used for identification to ensure accuracy.
