I've always used TeXnicCenter so I can't compare, but it's a pretty great editor.

I've always used proTeXt (which bundles everything in one install). It used to include technicenter, but switched to texstudio.

I highly recommend using Overleaf as your LaTex Editor. It is a user-friendly online platform that allows for efficient document creation, collaboration, and real-time preview of your document. It also has a wide range of templates and tools specifically designed for scientific documents. Other excellent options include TeXstudio and Texmaker, which offer similar features and are free to use. It's always important to choose an editor that suits your specific needs and workflow, so I suggest trying out a few options before settling on one. Happy document creation!
