In summary, the conversation discusses who could be considered the "Einstein" of 2013 and who has made the greatest discoveries in the last 10 years. It is mentioned that there is no objective answer and it is all subjective, with some suggesting Brian May as a potential candidate. However, it is also acknowledged that this is a subjective topic and there is no clear answer.

I think most people will say Edward Witten or some nobel laureate ...Objectively who's the Einstein of 2013?Who made the greatest discoveries in the last 10 years?

I'm going to have to go with Brian May too.

Seriously though, that's like asking who the best musician in the world is, or who the greatest artist in the world is. Is there really an answer to that question? No. It's all subjective.

What field of physics? How do you define "smartest?" Theorist or experimentalist? There really is no objective answer to a question like that.

Sorry, this topic is too subjective to be of any value.

1. Who is considered the smartest living physicist?

The answer to this question is subjective and can vary depending on personal opinions and criteria for measuring intelligence. Some commonly mentioned names include Stephen Hawking, Edward Witten, and Roger Penrose.

2. What makes a physicist "smart"?

Intelligence in the field of physics can be measured by a combination of factors, including a deep understanding of complex mathematical and scientific concepts, innovative thinking, and significant contributions to the field through research and discoveries.

3. How is intelligence in physics measured?

Intelligence in physics is often measured by academic achievements, such as degrees and publications, as well as awards and recognition from prestigious organizations. However, these measurements do not necessarily reflect the full extent of a physicist's intelligence and contributions to the field.

4. Can a physicist be considered the smartest in all areas of physics?

It is highly unlikely for one physicist to excel in all areas of physics, as it is a vast and diverse field. Most physicists specialize in specific subfields, and their intelligence may be more pronounced in those areas.

5. Is it fair to compare physicists and label one as the smartest?

Comparing physicists and determining who is the smartest is a difficult and controversial topic. Every physicist has their own unique contributions and strengths, and it is not fair to label one as the smartest, as intelligence is not a quantifiable or objective measure.
