Search Function Issues: Mozilla & PhysicsForums

In summary, the search function on PhysicsForums does not always work properly for users who use Mozilla as their browser. This is a common issue that has been reported by many users. The exact cause is unknown, but it is believed to be due to compatibility problems. Some potential solutions have been suggested, but they may not work for everyone. PhysicsForums is aware of the issue and is working on finding a permanent solution. In the meantime, they suggest using a different browser or the advanced search function.

Is everyone aware of the problems with the search function? In mozilla at least, it basically doesn't work at all. For example, clearly the 9th post in this thread: https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?p=139582#post139582 has the words "oscillating", yet try searching for that word in general physics...I for one do not find anyhting.

I've had similar problems.

Greg mentioned something about not reindexing the search database since the last update, so older threads don't appear in it... or something like that.
