A new character for the "Trailer Park Boys"

http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/11/07/21352338-toronto-mayor-rob-ford-makes-death-threat-in-new-video [Broken]

Just days after Toronto mayor Rob Ford publicly admitted to smoking crack, a new video has surfaced where the mayor allegedly threatens to kill an unnamed person.

What is the process in Canada to force someone out of office that's a total embarrasment, is there a recall process?

I heard this addressed in a story on the radio. Turns out, it's not easy at all to recall an elected official. So it could be the citizens of Toronto won't have a say until next election.

Quite the colorful guy, isn't he?

Here's a link -

Toronto city council doesn’t have the power to force Ford out of office. There are no recall or impeachment rules here as there are in the United States. The mayor is only compelled to leave if he is both convicted and jailed for a criminal offence or alternately, if he doesn’t attend enough council meetings.

At his current rate of indulgence he won't make it to the next election. Maybe the city should sponser non-stop drinking parties in his office.

As a mayor, how has he mismanaged the city of Toronto?
The city is supposidly in better shape with him at the helm.

I'm sure the trains are running on time too.

The man is out of control, needs rehab more than Marion Berry did when he got busted and is a walking time-bomb that a rat would kick out of his hole in the ground.

NSFW language:
I sure he only had a couple of drinks.

All the poor guy needs is; rehab at a nice resort, he should attend anger management seminars (lots of them), lastly he should perhaps join the nice folks at Weight Watchers.

There are exactly ZERO laws to remove him from City Hall should he want to stay there until the next election.

That being said, Council can vote to restrict his rights as a mayor and essentially leave him powerless, but it's a slow process as they do it one right at a time.

Right now when Rob is in City Hall, all the council members just turn their swivel chairs away from him and ignore him while he talks.

Scandal-scarred Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was stripped of many of his powers Monday at a raucous City Council meeting that turned out to be a real knockdown affair.

Canada's most famous politician, charging across the crowded chamber to assist his brother during an "altercation," barreled into a female lawmaker — sweeping her off her feet and leaving her with a fat lip.

"It was a complete accident," Ford said later. "I sincerely apologize."
...
Councilor Denzil Minnan-Wong, a former Ford ally, said it had nothing to do with politics.

"Our mayor...the Argonauts don’t even want him to go the football game and they don’t want him to wear the jersey," he said.

"You, sir, have lost the ability to lead this city."

This is actually very true, a few years ago (when he was a city Councillor not the Mayor) a radio station called all of the city Councillors to report a pot-hole in their district. Only three of the Councillors returned the call (one of them being Rob Ford) and Ford was the only one who actually went out to see the pot-hole for himself.

He actually does do a decent job running a city and is a better than average politician, he just likes to smoke a little crack from time to time.

This should be a fun to watch election.

After a year of drunken antics, admissions of drug use, and crippling disputes with the city council, polls suggest Toronto Mayor Rob Ford could still win re-election in October. How do his challengers make their pitch to the city's typically staid voters?

As regular as the frigid spring rain falling on Canada's largest city earlier this month, Mr Ford stood before a pack of baying reporters and waved off the latest allegations of public misbehaviour.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, the Chris Farley look-alike who admitted last year to smoking crack cocaine during a “drunken stupor,” is in trouble again.

On Wednesday night, a video that appears to show Ford smoking something out of a metal pipe emerged, allegedly shot by a self-professed drug dealer who says it was crack cocaine. Shortly after reporters from the Globe and Mail confronted Ford, who’s currently running for reelection, he said he was going to take a break from campaigning.

Asked for specifics, CBP spokesperson Kris Grogan said the privacy act prevents officials from commenting on “an individual’s processing,” but he pointed out that anyone hoping to enter the United States must “overcome all grounds of inadmissibility” – which include criminality, security reasons and documentation requirements, among dozens of others.

I guess he is officially a undesirable in the States now.

“I have a problem with alcohol, and the choices I have made while under the influence. I have struggled with this for some time,” Mr. Ford said in a prepared statement late on Wednesday. “I have tried to deal with these issues by myself over the past year. I know that I need professional help and I am now 100 per cent committed to getting myself right.”

It's about time.
