In summary: The Israeli D9 bulldozer has a hydraulic arm that can push large objects over obstacles. The Australian RPU has a robotic arm that can lift and move objects. The Israeli D9 bulldozer wins because it can push large objects over obstacles. The Australian RPU wins because it can lift and move objects.

Would not having a war at all be a better solution to war?

Obviously you don't appreciate the thrill of robot warfare.

For sure it would.

If warfare is to be eliminated, it will happen through economics and information flow, not philosophy.

Nikola Tesla proposed robotic warfare as a better means of conducting war. He apparently made demonstrations of radio controlled robots to the military but they were not interested. Probably too expensive.

While in high school I gave a speech in which I argued that technology could lead to warfare in which no lives need to be lost. Of course I was looking at the world through the eyes of a young American who perceived the Soviet as the only real threat. But the idea was that once one side gained an advantage by destroying the other's defenses - say for example by destroying a space based LASER shield that guards against missile attack - the other side would simply surrender or they would face certain destruction. For many years I believed that day would come, but now it seems far less likely than before.

So round one is between the IDF's robotic bulldozer and the Australian's robotic haul truck.

1. What is conflict resolution by kings?

Conflict resolution by kings refers to the practice of using a king or monarch as a mediator to resolve conflicts or disputes between individuals, groups, or nations. This method has been used throughout history in various cultures and societies.

2. Is conflict resolution by kings an effective method?

The effectiveness of conflict resolution by kings depends on various factors, such as the skills and abilities of the king, the nature of the conflict, and the willingness of the parties involved to compromise. In some cases, it can be successful in achieving a peaceful resolution, but in others, it may not be the best solution.

3. What are the advantages of using a king for conflict resolution?

One of the main advantages of using a king for conflict resolution is their authority and power to enforce decisions. Kings also often have a neutral and unbiased perspective, as they are not directly involved in the conflict. Additionally, their status and reputation can lend credibility to the resolution process.

4. What are the potential drawbacks of using a king for conflict resolution?

One potential drawback is that the decisions made by a king may not always be fair or just for all parties involved. There is also the risk of the king being biased towards one side or being influenced by their own personal interests. In some cases, the use of a king as a mediator may also perpetuate unequal power dynamics and reinforce existing hierarchies.

5. Are there alternative methods for conflict resolution besides using a king?

Yes, there are various alternative methods for conflict resolution, such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and diplomacy. These methods often involve the participation of all parties involved and aim to find a mutually beneficial solution. They may also allow for more diverse perspectives and the consideration of different factors, such as legal or cultural norms.
