I have "5 small pieces" of potassium purchased from Flinn in 1995 in my school's cabinet. I am concerned because the storage can is starting to rust. I was planning to dispose of it, but I was also thinking of setting up some kind of sacrificial anode I could place inside my cabinet to put other metal cans on as well. I was wondering if anyone had ever done something like this, or if its a good idea to try.
