Hello, I will soon be a Freshman in college pursuing Electrical Engineering. I was wondering if I want to research and possibly work in the field of Artificial Intelligence, would the following academic track be plausible?

BsC in Electrical Engineering with minor in Computer Science
Followed by a Master in Computer Science?

I don't want to overwhelm myself really, I'm heavily interesting in EE but a lot more interested in AI. I feel as if this track would suit me well, but on the contrary is CS needed in the field of robotics? Could I possibly just pursue pure EE with research in robotics and AI?

Yes, you could pursue a BSc in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science followed by a Master in Computer Science and still be able to work in the field of Artificial Intelligence. This route would provide you with an excellent foundation in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which are both essential for developing AI-based systems. You could also pursue a BSc in Electrical Engineering and focus your research on robotics and AI. This route may be less intensive than pursuing a Master in Computer Science, but it would still provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the field of AI. It is important to note that some employers may require a Master's degree in Computer Science to work in the field of AI. Therefore, it is important to consider the type of career you are interested in before deciding which route to take.
